Scott Ritter deplatformed on Youtube

I’m here to make a brief statement about some developments that have happened in the last few hours. I assume my YouTube has deplatformed the Scott Ritter show. For those of you who are unaware of what the Scott Ritter show was, it was a collaboration between myself and a very popular, or some would say, controversial, Russian media outlet. But you’ll controversy if it’s informing you, if it’s provoking thinking, it challenges mainstream narrative. This is never bad.

We were deplatformed because of ”hate speech”. I can tell you as somebody who’s intimately involved in this program there was no hate speech whatsoever.

This was a program designed to bring Russian voices to a western audience. And it was succeeding, you know. Western media Outlets The Washington Post, New York Times CNN, they can all interview for instance, Ukrainian Battalion commanders. But if I interview a big Russian Battalion Commander, it’s hate speech. They can interview Ukrainian politicians and bring you the Ukrainian point of view, but if I interview a Russian politician, it’s hate speech. The same thing with Ukrainian academics intellectuals, who explained, you know, the the position of Ukraine in great detail.But if I bring on Russian politicians, Russian academics, Russian intellectuals, it’s hate speech.

It’s not hate speech. What is ”hateful” is daring to challenge the mainstream narrative and that’s what Scott Ritter show was all about. About putting out information that the viewer wasn’t going to get from anywhere else, and that’s the point. You see? There’s a disease in the west, it’s russophobia and it’s a disease that feeds off of ignorance, the ignorance of the western audience. And from this ignorance, fear is generated in the Spheres exploited, by the political powers, to support policies, such as blind allegiance to Ukraine. Accepting without challenge, the need to funnel hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine, without question, without accountability.

The Scott Ritter show put out a narrative that challenge the thinking behind these policies, and they can’t have that.

So, they canceled us. We’re not going away. My understanding is that we’re going to find a way to continue this collaboration, to continue the service of providing an outlet for Russian voices to be heard by an American Audience, by the Western audience.

We’ll just find a different platform. Again I’m sorry this happened but this is the case and I’ll leave it with this and I say this for everybody who’s on YouTube, understand that YouTube’s job is not to provide a vehicle for you to inform your audience. Youtubes job is to control the message that you think you want to get to your Audience by placing restrictions on the content that you can post by creating boundaries.

For, you know what, you can say they own you, they control you and by linking these restrictions to monetization that many people find attractive, what you’ve done is, you’ve sold out.

And so, I say this to everybody that’s operating on YouTube, beware, you think you’re in charge of your content, you’re not. Because in order to stay on YouTube, you have to make a lot of compromises that you normally wouldn’t make, but you have to make, because you’ve sold out for the money. You’ve sold out for the influence.

Don’t sell out for those things. Embrace Integrity. Embrace true journalism, embrace the notion that your voice uncensored, unaltered is the most important thing. You can contribute to any debate.

Jag är här för att göra ett kort uttalande om några händelser som har hänt under de senaste timmarna. Jag antar att min YouTube kanal Scott Ritter
-show har blivit deplattformad.

För er som inte är medvetna om vad Scott Ritter-showen var, så var det var ett samarbete mellan mig och en mycket populär, och somliga skulle säga, kontroversiell rysk media, som var ämnad att provocera tänkande, utmana mainstream-berättelsen. Och detta aldrig är dåligt.

Vi har blivit deplattformade på grund av hatretorik. Jag kan berätta för dig, som någon som är intimt involverad i det här programmet, att det inte fanns någon hatretorik överhuvudtaget.

Detta var ett program utformat för att föra ryska röster till en västerländsk publik. Och det lyckades.

Ni vet, västerländska medier som The Washington Post, New York Times, CNN. De kan alla intervjua till exempel ukrainska bataljonschefer.  Men om jag intervjuar en stor rysk bataljonschef är det hatretorik. De kan intervjua ukrainska politiker och ge dig den ukrainska ståndpunkten, men om jag intervjuar en rysk politiker är det hatretorik. Samma sak med ukrainska akademiker, intellektuella, som förklarar den Ukrainas inställning i detalj, men om jag tar upp ryska politiker, ryska akademiker, ryska intellektuella, då är det hatretorik.

Det är inte hatretorik. Det är att våga utmana mainstreamberättelsen, och det är vad Scott Ritter-show handlade om. Att lägga ut information som tittaren inte skulle få från någon annanstans – och det är poängen. Ser du? Det finns en sjukdom i väst, det är russofobi och det är en sjukdom som livnär sig på okunnighet, okunnighet hos den västerländska publiken.  Och från denna okunnighet genereras rädsla i de sfärer som utnyttjas av de politiska makthavarna för att stödja politik, såsom blind trohet till att Ukraina och utan utmaning accepterar behovet av att kanalisera hundratals miljarder av skattebetalarnas dollar till  Ukraina, utan tvekan utan ansvar.

Scott Ritter-show lade ut en berättelse som utmanar tänkandet bakom dessa policyer och det kan de inte ha. Så de tog bort oss.  Vi försvinner inte. Vad jag förstår kommer vi att hitta ett sätt att fortsätta detta samarbete, att fortsätta tjänsten att ge ryska röster en kanal för att höras av en amerikansk publik, av den västerländska publiken.

Vi hittar bara en annan plattform. Återigen, jag är ledsen att detta hände, men så här är det.

Och jag säger detta till alla som är på YouTube, förstå att YouTubes jobb inte är att tillhandahålla ett verktyg för dig att informera din publik. Din uppgift är att kontrollera meddelandet som du tror att du vill ska komma till din målgrupp genom att de lägger begränsningar på innehållet som du kan lägga upp – genom att YouTube skapa gränser.

För, vet du vad, man kan säga att de äger dig, de kontrollerar dig. Och genom att koppla dessa begränsningar till intäktsgenerering som många människor tycker är attraktivt, är vad du har gjort att du har sålt ut dig. Och så, jag säger detta till alla som verkar på YouTube, se upp, du tror att du är ansvarig för ditt innehåll, det är du inte. För för att kunna stanna på YouTube måste du göra många kompromisser som du normalt inte skulle göra, men du måste göra för att du har sålt dig för pengarna. Du har sålt dig för inflytandet.

Sälj inte ut dig. Omfamna integritet. Omfamna sann journalistik, omfamna förevissningen att din röst ocensurerad och oförändrad är det viktigaste. Du kan bidra till vilken debatt som helst.
